My life story
It all started on MSN Messenger (remember?) where you had to write for a social living. I could give it all that about reading Animal Farm aged nine, but I reckon it was MSN Messenger that did it. Without that digital cherry-picking of just the right words would I ever have found my way to university to get a 1st Class Hons for my writing?
A post-graduation move to London kicked off my career with roles at some of Britain’s best-known brands: Topshop in its heyday, Urban Outfitters and Ted Baker. Net-a-Porter, where I led social media, working with teams across the sales and publishing arms of the business.
Now I run my own practice, helping brands of all sizes find greater connection with their audiences. I love words, and I care deeply about language that respects its reader - inclusive, considered and written to affirm.
Most days you’ll find me at my desk in East London, with my canine co-worker Roo snoring nearby. She’s not taken to copywriting yet, but we’re working on it as a family business idea.
